Julius Thorne at Glenmoore Gracious Retirement Living in Happy Valley, Oregon

“I shopped around before making a decision on Glenmoore and I feel that I certainly made the right choice. The overall beauty of the community along with the helpful, friendly and attentive staff all the way to the bus driver make it the right choice for me. I couldn’t ask for nicer people or more caring. Three meals a day which are excellent and weekly housekeeping are just a few things I love at my new home.”

“The fitness program has benefited me in several ways, but has especially helped in strengthening my leg muscles. The program is also convenient, definitely doable, as well as being enjoyable. The fitness coordinator provided leadership and lots of encouragement and knowledge. I am recommending it to other residents, definitely.”

“We want you to know that Volly and I have been looking for 10 years to find a good retirement community, for which we would give up our home of 48 years. We do feel very lucky that our son, Harry, found it. God guided us to this place. We are so grateful! Thank you to every one of the staff for all the service! So many residents have become our friends."

“I moved to Glenmoore the later part of September. Everyone was friendly and made me feel welcome. The staff is caring and most helpful at getting us settled and making it our home. The chefs are top-notch and prepare delicious meals for us. There are many amenities that are helpful and what I enjoy. I am happy I chose Glenmoore for my new retirement home!”

“Following the loss of my wife I continued at our home alone, but it became evident that that was a full time arduous job, leaving very limited time for rest or relaxation. I had visited several senior living communities and was left with considerable apprehension about going that route. When Glenmoore opened I found it to be just what I had hoped for. Its onsite management, movie theatre, library, exercise room, card room, chapel, and daily resident activities program, made it a premier establishment at no additional cost. Additionally, the community is architecturally pleasant and tastefully furnished. The management staff, available 24 hours per day to residents, is seriously concerned about the quality of the food served and resident comfort. This is reflected in the general satisfaction of its residents. I have found the residents of Glenmoore to be great people and a pleasure to meet. Glenmoore has met my most hopeful expectations.”

“When I came to Glenmoore for the first time, I didn’t even think about moving in at first. I had cats, and most places do not allow animals. My son was in town and I invited him to come over with me to have dinner. We were both surprised that it was so fresh, open and light. I went home and figured out my finances and thought I might be able to do it. I was in my house for 49 years. Once I decided, I put that all behind me and now I am the community librarian. The kids don’t have to worry about me and I’m staying very active. I didn’t want to stop my life. I wanted to continue with my hobbies and enjoy my friends.”
