"In September 2005 my wife took sick with an illness that became grave. We decided to move to an Assisted Living community where we could both be cared for. She unfortunately passed away soon after we moved to Birchwoods. During the time she was ill, the crew here could not do enough for her to make our lives comfortable; I will never forget that. Now I only have the crew; they are like my family, I feel like I am home. I really love it here; they keep us active with entertainment and great activities!"

In early 2003, I began searching for an adequate care facility in the Portland metropolitan area. Edgewood Point’s outstanding staff and physical appearance were evident during the facility tour. Based on these initial impressions, I felt comfortable moving mom from her home city of 77 years, into a new environment. Although she left much behind, mom quickly became accustomed to the love and care of the staff.
While the physical amenities of a care facility are important, the employees truly make the experience. From the RA’s to the senior managers, Edgewood’s employees always treated mom with respect and always insured her comfort. My family and I knew that mom’s needs were addressed and that our opinions would be considered.
While mom’s passing has been met with sorrow, I could not think of a better environment for it to occur. All of your staff can take comfort in knowing that they made mom’s final years as enjoyable as possible.
